The tiny pooch made a bolt for it and eventually found herself trapped in a dimly lit passageway beneath the canal. It was all in response to a sudden fright from a speedy passing automobile. Luckily, a kind-hearted cop arrived on scene to save the day and retrieve her safely from harm’s way.
Meet Joe Brazil, a compassionate officer from Woonsocket, Rhode Island who always goes above and beyond to assist others. His recent act of heroism in rescuing a helpless dog has captured the hearts of countless individuals, including Peggy Edwards who shared this heartwarming tale on social media. Peggy recounts the incident of May 2, 2016 when a scared Yorkshire terrier puppy was startled by a passing vehicle and fled into a tunnel. Without any hesitation, Joe chased after the pup and rescued it from harm’s way. This heartfelt story quickly spread across the internet, touching us all with Joe’s admirable kindness and bravery.
On April 30th, Peggy shared a heartwarming story on Facebook about a small dog that got stuck in a tunnel by a creek after being frightened by a car. Although she was initially hesitant to intervene, Peggy knew that she had to help the poor dog. However, she was worried that her actions might scare the dog and cause it to retreat deeper into the tunnel. Peggy eventually decided to call the Woonsocket Police Department for assistance, and they were able to rescue the little dog safely.
Officer Joe Brazil arrived shortly after and was more than willing to offer his help with great enthusiasm.
The brave law enforcement officer eagerly came to Peggy’s aid when she detailed the situation. We were elated that he successfully rescued the young girl. Peggy expressed her gratitude, saying, “Without hesitation, he emerged from the water with a wet and frightened little canine.” The considerate Officer took off his shoes and socks before entering the tunnel to save the tiny pup. According to WJAR NBC10, the Officer was able to contact Cece, and they reported, “As I got closer, I saw that Cece was clinging to the wall, trembling.” Being mindful of the small dog’s fear, the Officer was exceedingly cautious not to frighten her further into the tunnel. And then, something remarkable happened! When he approached the nervous dog, he allowed Cece to follow his fingers a little deeper into the tunnel and then lifted her up!
During an interview, Michelle Perez revealed that her dog Cece went missing when she was only five months old. Perez was full of worry and drove around looking for her furry friend, contacting anyone who might have seen her. Thankfully, Peggy Edwards and Officer Joe Brazil rescued Cece from a scary tunnel and returned her to her loving owner. Everyone is grateful that Cece made it home safely. Officer Joe Brazil reported that during the rescue, Cece seemed to understand his intentions and even showed gratitude. A heartwarming photo shows Cece being affectionate towards the officer who saved her. Additionally, it was discovered in an interview with WJAR NBC10 that Cece wasn’t a stray but belonged to Perez’s family. Perez’s mother-in-law gave the puppy as a gift, but she managed to run away the next day. Perez was thrilled to hear that her beloved pet had been found.
