Lionel Messi’s Astonishing £23 Million Fortune Empire: Revealing his Lavish Properties in Barcelona, Ibiza, and Miami

Lionel Messi is known for his impressive collection of some of the most prestigious and luxurious properties in the world.

When you’re the most successful footballer in the world and have a wealth of $524 million, things like this are par for the course. Messi is rumored to rent an apartment in the Villas de Neuilly in Paris for £18,000 per month.

Over the years, he has had mansions in Barcelona and Miami. Recently, he added Ibiza and Rosario to his property portfolio. Let’s take a peek at Messi’s houses worth around £23 million.

Barcelona

Where it all began, Messi was a king in Catalonia, and he lived like one too. His digs there were located in the exclusive suburb of Castelldefels where the richest of the rich reside. It boasted astonishing sea views and was in a no-fly zone – meaning planes had to divert their routes around it. And it was perfectly situated – just a 12-mile drive from the Camp Nou.

He was surrounded by good company too – with close pal Luis Suarez living nearby. It’s not known if he kept the property or sold it when he left for Paris. It is valued at £5.5 million.

Miami. In 2020, the diminutive footballer laid down roots in the US – splashing £5 million on a massive Miami apartment. This, of course, sparked the rumor mill into overdrive with reports suggesting Messi was going to embark on a new journey in the MLS with David Beckham’s Inter Miami.

The remarkable property sits on Sunny Isles Beach with beautiful views of the ocean – just ten miles from Miami Beach. The luxury condo has four bedrooms, four bathrooms, 360-degree views of the stunning Miami skyline, and even a 1,000-bottle wine cellar in 511 square meters of indoor space.

In addition to its own private pool, the apartment has access to six pools in total. There is also a spa, fitness center, yoga studio, children’s playhouse, and a champagne bar in the complex.

Messi reportedly listed his apartment for sale last year, and to add a touch of luxury, a private chef is available on-site for residents who want to satisfy their appetites before delving into the exclusive wine cellar.

However, it was reported last year that Messi has put the property on the market.

Ibiza
From Miami to Ibiza, Messi’s recent addition is a £9.5 million holiday home in the Balearic island, to complement his hotel there.

Unfortunately, it’s going to need a bit of work.

It has been said that the mansion has planning problems and has not yet been granted a certificate of occupancy – a document issued by a local government agency certifying it is in a livable condition.

The planning issues are linked to the construction of several rooms in the property’s garage before Messi’s purchase according to a report by newspaper Periódico de Ibiza.

In 2018, Lionel Messi purchased the Hotel MiM Ibiza and Spa. There are rumors that he may demolish the rooms that did not form part of the original plans in the new-built property. Messi is hopeful that the work will be done next summer since he loves spending time in Ibiza when the season is over.

Home is where the heart is, even though Messi left Rosario when he was just 13 to follow his football dream at Barcelona. At the end of the year, he is believed to have spent £3 million on a mansion called ‘The Fortress’ on the outskirts of where he was born.

The enormous space includes three adjoining plots of land in a gated community. It features a massive cinema, a fully-equipped gym, and an underground garage for 15 cars – perfect for housing Messi’s car collection. Argentine media report that the house has between 20-25 rooms and a playground that is the size of the whole top floor.

Visitors may also get to see a large floor to ceiling portrait of the back of Messi wearing his famous No. 10 shirt for Argentina.
Dad Jorge was reportedly in charge of designing the property – to let his son concentrate on his football career.
From the sounds of it, this seems to be where he plans to retire.
