Lionel Messi and his beautiful wife, Antonela Roccuzzo, spent a relaxing day on a boat trip in Miami over the weekend with Luis Suarez and his family. Despite wearing a protective boot due to ankle ligament damage suffered in the Copa America final, Messi seemed to be enjoying his time at sea. Antonela shared photos from their outing on Instagram, showing Suarez’s wife Sofia, as well as Mariana and her partner, who is also Suarez’s sister-in-law. Suarez recently returned to Miami after representing Uruguay in the Copa America, where they were defeated by Colombia in the semifinals.
Lionel Messi was spotted wearing a protective boot while enjoying a leisurely boat trip in Miami with his wife Antonela Roccuzzo over the weekend. Despite suffering a nasty ankle injury during the game against Colombia, Messi and his Argentina team managed to secure victory in the final with an extra-time goal from Lautaro Martinez. The football star was unfortunately forced to leave the pitch in the midst of regular time, receiving ample medical attention before being replaced. While his teammates celebrated their win in Buenos Aires, Messi reassured his fans on Instagram that he was okay and expressed gratitude for their support during the Copa America tournament.
The pair went out with Luis Suarez and his teammate’s wife, Sofia, along with Sofia’s sister-in-law, Mariana, and her partner.
Antonela, Messi’s wife, posted a collection of pictures from their relaxing boat outing under the Miami sunshine.
The 37-year-old Miami sensation will be taking a break from the game due to an injury to his ankle ligaments that occurred during the Copa America final.
I’m doing well, thank goodness, and I’m looking forward to getting back on the field soon to do what I love the most. I’m thrilled, really thrilled, especially because we accomplished our goal and Fide (Angel Di Maria) is leaving us but with another trophy.
Before their victory over Chicago Fire on Saturday, Messi made his way onto the field wearing his protective boot as Inter Miami celebrated his 45th major title win at the Copa America.
Those 45 wins include Miami’s first-ever trophy last year when he led them to victory in the Leagues Cup. The crowd at Chase Stadium gave him a warm reception, with many hoping to see him playing rather than limping around in his boot.
Although Messi won’t be playing, Suarez is gearing up to be in the lineup for Miami in their Leagues Cup match against Puebla on Saturday.
